FUNCTIONAL TESTING
When standard tests don't give you the full picture
Standard blood tests are an important part of conventional healthcare. They are primarily designed to identify or rule out disease and significant abnormalities. But you can feel that something isn't quite right even when your results fall within the standard reference ranges.
Functional testing takes a different approach. Depending on the test, it can provide additional insight into areas such as hormones, nutrient status, gut health, metabolism and other aspects of your health.
The aim isn't simply to collect more data. It is to understand your results in the context of your symptoms, health history, diet and lifestyle and help you make sense of what they may mean for you.
How the Functional Test Interpretation Package Works
-
You'll be asked to complete online forms that provide information about your current symptoms, diet, lifestyle, medications, family history and previous health history.
This gives us a broader picture before we consider testing
-
You'll have a 30-minute consultation with Anita to discuss your health concerns and explore which functional tests, if any, may be appropriate.
We'll discuss:
The available testing options
What each test can and cannot tell us
The cost of the test
How the test is completed
Whether testing is appropriate for you
There is no obligation to proceed with testing. You can decide after this consultation whether you'd like to continue.
-
If you decide to proceed, your chosen test(s) will be ordered and sent directly to your home, with instructions for collecting your samples.
-
Once your results are received, Anita will review and interpret the findings alongside the information you've provided about your health and symptoms.
You’ll receive a copy of the report and be asked to select a date and time for your 60-minute results consultation.
-
You'll then have a 60-minute consultation with Anita to go through your results in detail.
This is your opportunity to:
Understand what your results mean
Ask questions
Discuss possible contributing factors
Explore practical recommendations
Consider what, if anything, you'd like to do next
This is a standalone consultation. You are not required to continue working with me afterwards.
If appropriate, you may choose to use the consultation as a starting point for a more comprehensive personalised programme. This would be discussed separately and charged at an additional fee.
Please note: The results consultation provides broad recommendations only. It does not include a personalised written plan, supplement protocol or additional reports.
What Does the Package Cost?
£180

Could Functional Testing Be Right for You?
Testing may be worth considering if you:
Functional testing isn't appropriate for everyone, and it isn't intended to replace appropriate medical assessment or conventional investigations.
The first step is simply to talk through your situation and decide whether testing could be useful. Start with a free 30-minute discovery call. We'll briefly discuss your concerns, what you're hoping to understand and whether functional testing may be an appropriate next step.
If it seems suitable, we'll then arrange your 30-minute initial consultation, where we can explore the testing options in more detail.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
There isn't one functional test that is right for everyone.
There are 70+ tests and test variations available across areas including gut health, hormones, nutrition, metabolism and more.
That's why I don't recommend choosing a test based on symptoms alone.
Your health questionnaire and initial consultation allow us to consider your individual circumstances and identify the test (if any) that is most relevant to your needs and offers appropriate value.
We'll also discuss the cost of each option before you decide whether to proceed.
-

Following your 60-minute results consultation, you can choose to continue working with Anita for personalised dietary recommendations, nutrition plans and supplement protocols based on your results. There is no obligation to continue. Your results and report are yours to keep and take elsewhere if you want.
-
A £30 payment is required to book your initial 30-minute consultation and health questionnaire.
If you decide to proceed with a recommended functional test, the remaining £150 package fee will be payable before your test is ordered.
